Jumia Technologies, an Africa-focused e-commerce firm, will shut down its South African online fashion retailer Zando and leave Tunisia by year-end to streamline operations, the CEO told Reuters. The company is intensifying cost-cutting efforts to achieve profitability, which includes workforce reductions, exiting everyday grocery sales and food delivery, and scaling back delivery services unrelated to core e-commerce. These moves aim to sharpen Jumia's focus on more profitable markets and services.
