African Space Agency HQ opens in Cairo

The African Space Agency (AfSA) inaugurated its headquarters in Cairo’s Space City on Sunday, marking a significant step in the continent’s space ambitions, Al Ahram online reports. Established under the African Union’s Agenda 2063, AfSA aims to coordinate Africa’s space activities, focusing on areas like climate monitoring, disaster management, and sustainable development. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, emphasized the agency’s role in fostering cooperation among African nations and enhancing their presence in international space forums.
