Algeria declares Moroccan deputy consul in Oran as ‘persona non grata’

Algeria has declared Mohamed Sefiani, the Moroccan Deputy Consul in Oran, as "persona non grata" and has given him 48 hours to leave the country, citing "suspicious actions" that breach his duties and international laws. This was communicated to Khalid Chihani, acting head of Morocco's consulate, by Mokhtar Amine Khelif, Algeria's Director-General of Protocol. The move intensifies the ongoing diplomatic tensions between Algeria and Morocco, primarily over the Western Sahara dispute. No response has been received from Morocco.
