According to Saliha Nacerbay, General Director of Algeria’s National Tourism Office, Algeria has opened up a visa free policy to 7 countries including Libya, Mali, Malaysia and Tunisia. Algeria currently has around 3 million tourists a year and aims to increase that number to between 10-12 million by 2030. Plans include enhancing the visa system, upgrading transportation links, and incentivizing both local and foreign investments in tourism infrastructure. Already, substantial efforts are underway with 2,000 approved tourism projects, signaling a renaissance in Algeria’s tourism sector.
