During its 70th anniversary parade Algeria unveiled two new Russian-made military components: the 1L260 Zoopark-1M counter-battery radar system and a newly developed engineer tracked armored vehicle based on the Soviet-era T-62 main battle tank chassis, upgraded with modern features to enable specialized mine-clearing and demolition tasks on the battlefield. The radar system is of particular significance as it is designed by Russia specifically to enhance battlefield awareness by detecting and locating enemy artillery, mortar, and rocket launcher positions. According to Army Recognition it is a reminder of Algeria’s commitment to bolstering its military technology in collaboration with long-standing ally Russia.
