Algerian communication minister Mohamed Meziane has condemned freedom of expression, claiming without evidence that 9,000 journalists worldwide are tarnishing his country’s reputation. His remarks, criticizing the French press in particular, have intensified disputes with France, following the recent diplomatic fallout between the two nations. These comments have also reignited criticisms of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's administration, which opponents argue deflects from domestic problems by blaming external factors.
