The Algerian Parliament has condemned French President Emmanuel Macron's criticism of the detention of Franco-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal as "blatant interference." Macron had labeled Sansal's arrest at Algiers Airport a "disgraceful matter." In response, Algeria’s People’s National Assembly called his remarks "irresponsible" and an affront to national sovereignty, emphasizing that the case was judicially under review. The assembly accused Macron of trying to tarnish Algeria’s image and stressed the importance of mutual respect in international relations.
