The United States has transferred two patrol boats to Tunisia and dispatched the USS Mount Whitney, flagship of the 6th Fleet, to Tunis, reinforcing a longstanding maritime partnership, according to a report in the Stars and Stripes. The ceremony, held on April 17, underscores Washington’s continued security cooperation with Tunisia, a key non-NATO ally on the Mediterranean. Since 2011, the U.S. has invested over $1 billion in Tunisian security assistance, including aircraft and training.
