Ayyoub Bouaddi hesitates between France and Morocco

Lille’s 17-year-old midfield sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi remains undecided on whether to represent France or Morocco at the international level, despite growing pressure from both federations. According to the French sport newspaper L’Équipe, Bouaddi is taking his time to decide, resisting mounting pressure from both federations.

Bouaddi, who became one of the youngest players to feature in a Champions League match when he faced Real Madrid on his 17th birthday, has already made 29 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille, showcasing exceptional technical ability. His contract runs until 2027, but his national allegiance remains uncertain. 

Morocco, which recently secured commitments from talents like Chemsdine Talbi and Elisse Ben Seghir, is closely monitoring his situation. Bouaddi’s latest Champions League outing against Borussia Dortmund saw a mixed performance, as Lille was eliminated following a 2-0 defeat. His next move—both for club and country—remains highly anticipated.
