Blinken hopes Sudan humanitarian progress brings broader deal

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed optimism on Tuesday about a developing humanitarian agreement in Sudan, which he hopes could pave the way for a comprehensive resolution to the country’s ongoing conflict. The United States announced Monday that talks in Switzerland were nearing a deal to open three critical humanitarian routes, including a key crossing from Chad. Blinken highlighted Sudan as the world’s most severe humanitarian crisis during remarks in Doha.
