U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to announce at the United Nations additional funding for humanitarian aid to Sudan and efforts to support civil society in the country, in a conflict that has killed tens of thousands of people and driven millions from their homes.

According to reports by Reuters, Deputy U.S. Representative to the United Nations Ned Price will make several announcements when he chairs a UN Security Council meeting on Sudan. The focus will include additional funding for humanitarian assistance, and efforts to support civil society and, ultimately, the transition back to democracy, Price said. "Sudan, unfortunately, has risked becoming a forgotten conflict," Price said.
