Morocco tourism surges 19% in first half of 2025
Morocco welcomed 8.9 million tourists in the first half of 2025, a 19% year-on-year increase, according to Morocco World
Egypt ranked 38th and Morrocco 50th in the latest Brand Finance global Soft Power Index, as both countries topped the Maghreb region, ahead of Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Mauritania. The U.S. took the top spot with China coming in second. Countries experiencing war such as Israel and Ukraine dropped spots, while El Salvador was the biggest climber in the rankings, as it was seen to have dramatically improved its security situation.
