CNGR Morocco New Energy, a Chinese-African joint venture, has begun producing EV battery parts in Morocco, leveraging the country’s strategic location to access Western markets while avoiding tariffs, the South China Morning Post report. The factory, near Jorf Lasfar, is a partnership between China’s CNGR Advanced Material (50.03%) and African fund Al Mada. It forms part of a $2 billion deal to expand Morocco’s role in the global EV supply chain and commenced production in late January.
