The foreign ministers of Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan issued a joint statement on Wednesday, condemning Israel's military actions in Lebanon, warning that it is "pushing the region toward all-out war," according to AFP.
Speaking from New York, where they were attending the United Nations General Assembly, the ministers stressed that de-escalation must begin with a halt to Israeli aggression in Gaza. They called on the U.N. Security Council and the international community to intervene to prevent further escalation.

On Tuesday, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described Gaza as "a nonstop nightmare threatening to engulf the entire region."
During the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly, Guterres added, "We must be alarmed by this escalation. Lebanon is on the verge. The people of Lebanon, Israel, and the global community cannot afford for Lebanon to become another Gaza."
