Egypt looks to import 5 gas shipments in August, September this year

According to reporting by Asharq Bloomberg, Egypt is initiating a tender for the procurement of five consignments of liquefied gas in the upcoming months of August and September. In July, Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, disclosed that Egypt's daily energy usage has surpassed 37 gigawatts, marking a 12 percent surge from the previous year, resulting in a 4-gigawatt shortfall. Madbouly has outlined plans to expedite renewable energy initiatives to mitigate this gap and curtail energy imports.
