According to data from Oxford Insights Morocco ranks sixth amongst African nations in terms of readiness to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI). The index was based on 39 indicators spread across three main areas: government- technology sector, data and infrastructure, and the private sector. Mauritius ranked 61st in the global list, followed by Egypt in 62nd place, South Africa in 77th, Tunisia in 81st, and Rwanda in 84th place with Morocco positioned at 88th. AI adoption is dependent on access to the internet and broadband and the report highlighted disparities across the continent for its ability to become part of global efforts to advance AI technology.
