Egypt ready to temporarily secure Gaza crossings after Israeli withdrawal

Cairo has expressed readiness to send its troops temporarily in the Gaza Strip following a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces at the end of the war, according to Egyptian sources quoted by the Qatari-owned Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper.

Egypt stated that, under UN oversight, its forces would oversee security at the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, additional Gaza-Israel crossings, and select coastal regions, but would avoid cities and residential areas.
