Egyptian YouTuber Marwan Serry has joined the ownership group of Dagenham & Redbridge, a fifth-tier English football club, as part of an effort to broaden its international reach, Al Ahram online reports. Known for his football-focused channel Erza3, Serry has over two million subscribers and a strong following among Arab fans of English football.

Serry joins forces with Club Underdog, an existing investor, and aims to grow the club’s appeal beyond England’s lower leagues. “I’m here to contribute and be part of something meaningful,” he said in a statement.

Joining him is fellow Egyptian content creator Salma Mashhour, who has been appointed Director of Development and Engagement. Mashhour, a YouTuber and Arabic-language football storyteller, has helped spotlight the appeal of non-league football to Arab audiences.

The club hopes the duo will expand its fanbase and promote grassroots English football through digital media and community outreach.
