Libyan writer and politician Samir Shegwara has been arrested on national security charges after publishing documents that allegedly link Libya’
London based company Energean has finalized a deal with Chariot Energy to acquire a stake and take over operations of the Anchois gas discovery, Morocco’s only offshore commercial hydrocarbon discovery. The deal involves Energean paying $10 million to Chariot and is dependent on the partners needing to drill and test a critical appraisal well. The next stage will involve UK drilling experts Stena Forth for a vital drill stem test on the main gas-bearing reservoirs and target undrilled prospective areas, with the hope of boosting the discovery’s reserves to about 1 trillion cubic feet.
