EU court supports scrapping Morocco trade deals over W. Sahara

The EU's top court ruled on Friday in favor of the Western Sahara independence movement, upholding a previous verdict that annulled trade deals allowing Morocco to export fish and farm products from the disputed region. The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) rejected all appeals against its 2021 decision brought by the Polisario Front. The court extended the protocol for 12 months to avoid serious negative impacts on the EU’s external relations.
