The EU is poised to finalize substantial agreements with Jordan and Morocco to enhance collaboration on migration control, according to the new Mediterranean Commissioner. These deals, aimed at curbing the influx to the bloc, come amid rising far-right, anti-immigrant sentiments. The forthcoming agreements, following similar ones with Egypt and Tunisia, draw scrutiny over human rights concerns. Jordan, hosting over a million Syrian refugees, is expected to sign its deal early next year.
