According to the FT the EU plans to provide up to $180 million over three years to Tunisian security forces, “some of whom have been accused of human rights abuses.” Reporting by the FT went on to say it is “far more than has been made public as Brussels boosts its anti-migration drive.” The funding comes as the EU bloc faces increasing political pressure to cut arrival numbers of migrants.
