Young Libyans gear up for their first ever election
Young Libyans have mobilized for Saturday's municipal elections, the first time many will vote in the fractured North
Morocco has been able to bring in 40 tons of food and basic necessities through Israel direct to the people of Gaza and Al Quds. Morocco is the first country to transport, via this unprecedented land route, its humanitarian aid to Gaza. Morocco’s King Mohammed VI is President of the Al Quds Committee and was instrumental in brokering this arrangement. 2,000 food baskets benefiting 2,000 maqdessie families will be distributed and 1,000 meals will be served daily for the benefit of the City's Palestinians. The aid also provides for the provision of an emergency coordination room to the Jerusalem hospital. The first day of Ramadan in Gaza was marked amid widespread hunger and starvation due to acute shortages of food, water and other humanitarian aid. UNRWA, UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees, warned that “hunger is everywhere” in Gaza, and reiterated their call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and the unrestricted entry of aid.
