Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, has announced that preliminary engineering and feasibility studies for the Morocco–Nigeria Atlantic gas pipeline project have hit a considerable milestone, according to local media. Benali, speaking at the House of Representatives on Monday said that the critical first steps for extending Morocco’s gas infrastructure to the southern city of Dakhla, where it will connect to the trans-African pipeline, have been completed. The minister also highlighted that work is ongoing on the pipeline sector covering Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco—part of the project’s wider three-phase development.
