France freezes renewal of thousands of Algerian citizens’ residence permits
According to a report by Maghreb Intelligence more than 23,000 Algerians residing in France have had their residence permits
According to sources at the Elysee Palace and reported by the Institut Géopolitique Horizons (IGH), France is set to open a Consulate General and a French Institute in the southern Moroccan city of Laayoune. This would mark the first European diplomatic representation in the disputed territory. The French President is expected to formally announce the opening during a speech to the Moroccan Parliament on October 29.
