According to Egypt Today, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has completed Egypt’s latest loan review, unlocking $1.2 billion, the largest disbursement under the program so far. The news came from Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk during the Finance Ministry’s annual Iftar. IMF Executive Director for the Arab Group, Mohamed Maait, confirmed that Egypt will receive the funds within days, following the IMF Executive Board’s approval on Monday. Speaking to Al Arabiya Business, Maait emphasized the IMF’s recognition and appreciation of Egypt’s economic reforms since March 2024.
