Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune Sunday during a one-day state visit, Algeria’s official press service reported. The two leaders discussed Gaza, bilateral relations, energy cooperation and trade. They also covered regional developments including the Sahel, and Western Sahara.
In a joint press statement issued after the talks, President Tebboune lauded Iran's support for Algeria's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2024-2025 and praised Iranian solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
