AFP reports that British Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel Fattah has become sick after spending more than 50 days on hunger
Nael Barghouti, the longest-serving Palestinian prisoner in Israel, was deported to Egypt following his release under the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Jailed since 1978 for killing an Israeli bus driver, Barghouti was among 620 Palestinian prisoners exchanged for four Israeli hostages' remains. Israel's policy mandates permanent deportation for Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis, denying them return to their homes in the West Bank.
