Over 20 migrants have gone missing in the central Mediterranean while trying to cross from Libya to Italy, according to Italian media. In reports quoted by Reuters, the journey of the migrants, men, women and children, all from Syria, began their voyage by boat in Libya last Sunday, and the overcrowded boat capsized a few hours after it sailed. Survivors said there were 28 people on the boat and each paid between 500 and 1,000 euros to cross and no one was wearing a life jacket. The Italian Coast Guard rescued 7 people about 20 kilometers southwest of the island of Lampedusa and the seven men were found clinging to the upturned boat 3 days later.
