Libya has taken Africa’s number 1 spot in the 2024 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Index. Scoring 88.1 points, an 11% increase from the previous year's figure, which placed Libya ahead of Morocco, which ranked second with 86.8 points, followed by Seychelles with 84.7 points, Mauritius with 84.2 points, and South Africa in fifth place with 83.6 points.
According to the report the scores indicate notable progress in network coverage, affordability, and mobile data traffic, showcasing the country's ability to develop a robust ICT infrastructure despite its uneven distribution across the territory.
