Libya to Host 2026 Africa-Türkiye Summit

Libya has been selected to host the 2026 Africa-Türkiye Summit, the African Union announced following its 38th summit in Addis Ababa. The decision marks Libya’s diplomatic resurgence, with Presidential Council head Mohamed al-Menfileading efforts to secure the event.

The summit underscores Libya’s role in African diplomacy and its strategic position in fostering regional cooperation. Türkiye’sinfluence in Africa has grown in trade, defense, and infrastructure, positioning it as a key partner for the continent.
