The Libyan Administrative Control Authority (ACA) has urged a halt to public sector hiring and contracts amid surging wage costs. Libya's public sector payroll, which comprises 89% of the labor force, has reached over 2 million employees, with salaries totaling 372 billion dinars in 12 years, according to a World Bank report. The call, directed at Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah and his unity government, was announced on Facebook Tuesday evening. The government has not yet responded.
