Libya's NOC to reduce Sharara oil field production due to protests

Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Tuesday that it will begin gradually reducing production at the Sharara oil field, citing force majeure due to ongoing protests in the area. The Sharara field, one of the country's largest, has a production capacity of approximately 300,000 barrels per day and has been a frequent target of local protests for political reasons. Libya's internationally recognized government condemned the efforts to disrupt operations at Sharara, labeling them as "political blackmail."
