Tunisia has now overtaken neighboring Libya as the main embarkation point for Europe-bound migrants. According to the BBC, quoting a senior official, in the last 10 days more than 200 people have drowned trying to reach Europe. He added that Tunisian mortuaries were now running out of space and the authorities were struggling to contain the surge in attempted crossings.
