Mali junta suspends French-language channel TV5 Monde for three months

Mali's ruling junta has suspended French-language channel TV5 Monde for three months, citing a lack of "balance" in its reporting, the media regulator said Wednesday. The High Authority for Communication (HAC) criticized the channel for covering the deaths of at least 15 civilians in drone strikes in Tinzaouatene without including the Malian army's account of the incident. The suspension follows growing tensions between Mali's junta and foreign media.
