A 3,000-year-old Egyptian coffin has set the internet buzzing after an ancient painting of a woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to The Simpsons icon, Marge Simpson, was unearthed, according to Euronews.

The artwork features a tall woman with yellow-toned skin, a green dress, and—most striking of all—a towering blue hairstyle reminiscent of Marge’s famous bouffant, where she famously stores odds, ends, and even family secrets.

The discovery quickly went viral on Reddit, where users unleashed their creativity with humorous theories and jokes.

“Maybe The Simpsons has been running since the BC era…” quipped one Reddit user.

Another joked, “At last! The origin story of Marge Simpson is revealed!”

The painting is believed to depict Tadi Ist, the daughter of a powerful high priest from El-Ashmunein. Her coffin was discovered in an ancient cemetery in Minya, located on the west bank of the Nile, as reported by MyModernMet.

Dating back to 1189 BC–1077 BC, a time when high priests wielded immense influence in Egypt, the artwork suggests that Tadi Ist was a significant figure—though nobody could have predicted she’d become a viral star millennia later.
