Mauritania abstained from participating in a symposium organized by the Polisario Front in Geneva on the sidelines of the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which concluded on September 12th. The conference entitled «From occupation to self-determination: a comparison between Western Sahara and Palestine». It comes after Mauritanian parties had already ignored, on June 6, an invitation from the Polisario to a conference organized in the Lebanese capital.
