Mauritania launches first national strategy for AI

Mauritania has launched its inaugural strategy for artificial intelligence to foster a knowledge-based society and nurture a digitally proficient future generation. 

The initiative which was unveiled this month aligns with Mauritania's National Digital Transformation Agenda, emphasizing digital infrastructure enhancement and an innovation-driven economy. 

It complements the nation's five-year research and innovation strategy and a decade-long higher education plan, both aimed at leveraging research for socio-economic advancement and cultivating a scientific workforce for a thriving knowledge economy.
