Mauritania, Morocco set to update 1986 trade agreement

According to local media, over the weekend, Mauritania and Morocco began negotiations to update their almost 40-year-old trade agreement during the first meeting of a joint technical committee held in Nouakchott. The new economic initiative looks to modernize the commercial framework and boost bilateral trade to $350 million by the end of 2025. According to reports, co-chairing the meeting was Mauritanian Minister of Commerce and Tourism Zeinebou Mint Ahmednah and Moroccan Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Ihjira.
