Israel seeks Egypt mediation for Gaza ceasefire
Israeli officials have requested talks between the Shin Bet security service and Egyptian counterparts to address a potential Gaza ceasefire,
Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aty and his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Burrita met on the sidelines of the Arab-Islamic Summit to discuss ways to bolster bilateral ties across all fields and ensure coordination and collaboration on regional and international affairs of joint interest. According to Egypt media the discussions focused on how best to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon as well as safe and immediate delivery of humanitarian aid. The two ministers also exchanged views on the crises of Libya, Sudan, and other areas in Africa, including the Horn of Africa.
