Moroccan given one-year prison term for 'insulting' Saudi Arabia

A Moroccan court has sentenced activist Mohamed Boustati, a member of the Al Adl Wal Ihssane movement, to one year in prison for defamation over Facebook posts “considered insulting to Saudi institutions and figures", his lawyer Mohamed Nouini told AFP. The case was based on a complaint issued by Saudi security authorities. Nouini went on to tell AFP that the posts in question “contained general political criticism of Arab states' positions on the war in Gaza as well as normalisation with Israel, without specifying further details.”
