Morocco has acquired the Chinese-made TB-001 drone, Global Defense News reports citing @mog_china news account on X. The long-range reconnaissance and attack UAV, known as the "Twin-Tailed Scorpion", strengthens Morocco’s border surveillance and strike capabilities, underscoring its ongoing military modernization.

Manufactured by Sichuan Tengden Sci-Tech, the TB-001 has a 6,000 km range, a 35-hour endurance, and a 1,200 kg payload for surveillance and precision strikes. The drone will likely be deployed along Morocco’s southern borders, where it faces regional security challenges.

The purchase is part of Morocco’s growing defense ties with China, which has supplied Wing Loong II UAVs, Sky Dragon 50 air defense systems, and AR2 rocket launchers. As Morocco diversifies beyond Western suppliers, its expanding military capabilities strengthen its strategic position in North Africa, while also deepening China’s role as a key defense partner in the region.
