In Morocco, 40% of schools now offer Amazigh language courses, said Education Minister Mohamed Saad Berrada in a recent address to the House of Representatives. The minister noted that 3,400 schools teach the language to 650,936 students, marking a significant increase in both the number of students and teachers—from 200 in 2021 to 1,850 in 2024. Berrada emphasized the constitutional and governmental commitment to expanding Amazigh education, with plans to train 3,000 new teachers.
