Morocco & France continue to improve relations with second-hand fighter jet deal

In another symbolic show of cooperation France has facilitated the purchase by Morocco of 30 French-made Mirage 2000-9 fighter jets. It is part of a deal whereby the UAE who recently purchased 80 Dassault Rafale fighter planes from France will now sell on their 2000-9 planes to Morocco. However, it is required that any third-party transaction be approved by the original manufacturing country – in this case France. The breakthrough came during a recent meeting between the French and Moroccan foreign ministers.
