Morocco plans to cut budget deficit to below 67% by 2027

Morocco's Economy and Finance Minister, Nadia Fettah, today outlined the 2025-2027 budget plans focusing on reducing the budget deficit and securing long-term debt sustainability, while still strongly supporting social protection. Addressing the Finance and Economic Development Committee in Parliament, Fettah detailed strategies to lower the Treasury's debt ratio below 67% by 2027 through enhanced fiscal discipline, controlled spending, and increased revenues. She highlighted a 0.5% GDP decrease in the 2024 budget deficit and successes in financing social programs.
