Morocco–EU trade reaches historic peak in 2024
Trade between Morocco and the European Union soared to a record-breaking $65 billion in 2024, according to an announcement from
Morocco’s Interior Ministry announced that it has prevented 78,685 irregular migration attempts in 2024. The Ministry said that this was due to advanced border and coastal monitoring systems. Morocco reported that 12% of irregular migrants were from Maghreb countries, and 9% from East and Central Africa, but the overwhelming majority, some 58%, originated from West African nations.
