Morocco reaffirmed its commitment to a political solution for the Sahara, based on the autonomy plan under its sovereignty, during the UN General Assembly. Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, speaking in New York at the UN General Assembly, echoed King Mohammed VI's stance that no political process can proceed outside the UN-defined round tables with Algeria's participation. He emphasized international backing for Morocco's sovereignty and autonomy plan, urging a political resolution through round table discussions per Security Council resolutions.
