Morocco’s Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi urged legal regulation of social media at the Arab Justice Council meeting in Cairo, citing threats to individual freedoms. He announced plans for a 2025 AI and social media conference and highlighted Morocco’s updated penal code enforcing strict penalties for online misconduct. Speaking earlier on 2M TV, Ouahbi vowed to curb TikTok and YouTube abuses, including unauthorized filming of private lives, aiming to protect public privacy.
