Morocco will host another military exercise with the U.S. and other western allies in August, according to a statement from U.S. Army and Moroccan media. Arcane Thunder 24 will run from August 5-16, and will further enhance US-Moroccan military cooperation. It follows only a few months after the kingdom co-hosted Africa Lion, the continent’s largest military exercise.

Arcane Thunder will involve 300 soldiers from the US, Morocco, the UK, and Germany, with operations in both Germany and Morocco. Led by the US Army’s 2nd Multi-Domain Task Force, the exercise is focused on improving cooperation electronic warfare, across land, sea, air and cyber domains.

Colonel Patrick Moffett of the U.S. Army emphasized the importance of the exercise in strengthening the partnership between the US and Morocco, and ensuring allies maintain a decisive advantage against potential adversaries. This is the first time Arcane Thunder will be held in Morocco.
