According to reporting by Bloomberg News, Bank Al Maghrib’s governor Abdellatif Jouahri, who has been attending the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington, has indicated that Morocco aims to relax the kingdom’s exchange rate regime in 2026, returning to a gradual reform process that was halted during the pandemic. According to the governor “the central bank is technically ready” and regulators are working on a plan for the move, and he added “we also got the banks all ready.”
